The first three designs I created were Alberton, Punt Road and Brunswick Street. Apart from these places having strong links to well known footy clubs, they each presented a unique aesthetic to work with. As a passionate Port Adelaide supporter, Alberton had to be the first Footy Place I created.
Fast forward a few months and there are now eight Footy Places available, including spots like Glenferrie, North Hobart and The Parade. You can check out the full collection below and purchase these as prints, mugs, t-shirts and more from my online store.
There are more plans for the Footy Places collection so stay tuned.
Behind every idea there's usually an even greater idea, and these were no different. Discovering the brilliant work of graphic designer Chris Rees some time ago showed me that it's possible to create unique and elegant footy products and find a simple platform to get them to people.
Chris' collection of footy enigmas capture iconic footballers from the seventies and eighties in exquisite detail and in a style befitting of that era. Chris even gets approval from the players or their family to use the final art work. I've included a few examples below, but check out his online store for the full range.
